Datatrial Chosen to Join Biotechnology Trade Mission to Bavaria
Boutique Clinical Data Organization Will Build Relationships and Develop Contacts in Germany’s Emerging Biotech Region
Newcastle upon Tyne, England, 19 October 2009—Datatrial, a boutique clinical data organization, has been selected to be part of a delegation of UK companies on a mission to Bavaria from 19-21 October. The company was picked by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) based on its expertise, which made Datatrial a good match for the goals of the prestigious mission.
The joint trade mission to the German state of Bavaria is a collaboration between UKTI, Science & Innovation UK and Bio-M. The mission is intended for UK companies within the biotech and biopharmaceutical industries, with the stated purpose of promoting business collaboration. Bavaria is widely considered one of Europe’s top biotechnology regions, so the opportunity to cultivate long-term relationships within the region could be a boost for these UK organizations.
Datatrial will join UKTI in traveling to the greater Munich area to participate in seminars, presentations and one-on-one meetings with Bavarian companies, as well as visiting the facilities of one of the area’s top bio-pharma companies. This networking platform will provide a unique opportunity for the British business delegation to gain exposure and get started on establishing a presence in a promising market.
“We are certainly honored to have been selected to participate in this important trade mission to a highly promising biotechnology area,” said Datatrial chief executive officer Adam Black. “We recognize Bavaria’s status as a vital region in the biotechnology industry and we understand the importance of gaining a foothold in the area, so we aim to take full advantage of this rare and appreciated opportunity.
“Here at Datatrial, we feel our inclusion in this delegation of respected companies represents further validation that we are making progress toward our goal of becoming one of Europe’s pre-eminent biotechnology service organizations.”
Datatrial was chosen based on its extensive background with a broad range of pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, particularly in the fields of oncology, CNS and immunology. With global coverage offered by headquarters in both the UK and US, as well as a focus on exceptional customer service, Datatrial was deemed to be an ideal fit for the biotechnology mission by UKTI.
UK Trade & Investment seeks to “increase the contribution of foreign direct investment to knowledge intensive economic activity in the UK, including R&D.” The organization also seeks to enhance the UK’s reputation with overseas markets, using networking and an extensive list of contacts in an effort to assist UK companies in handling globalization challenges.
