  • Study Delivery Associate
    Burlington, NC

    What I do at Datatrial:

I am responsible for tracking in CRFs and DCFs, data entry and reviewing discrepancies.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I have worked at companies in which you feel like as if you’re over looked and can be impersonal. So I like working at Datatrial because I feel as if not only are you noticed and important but your goals and achievements are too.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

Like many people, I too have family members as well as myself who rely on modern and holistic medicine to enhance their quality of life.  So with it, we have enjoyed many peaceful days, nights and less trips to the doctor’s office.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and traveling. We especially love visiting Washington, D.C. over the weekends to tour each of the different museums. Some days we can spend all day in just one.

    My favorite movie and book:

I don’t have a favorite movie nor book; however, I do tend to favor particular authors (Steven King and Alice Walker) and movie genres (Horror and Suspense).

  • Study Delivery Manager
    Loris, SC

    What I do at Datatrial:

As a Study Delivery Manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that all project deliverables and timelines are met.  On any given day, my responsibilities may include the creation and maintenance of various study documents, providing project status updates to the client and project teams or participating in project review meetings with both internal and external project team members.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I enjoy working with a great team of highly dedicated and motivated individuals and contributing to the ongoing research involved in finding new medical procedures and medications to treat existing and future illness and conditions.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

Both of my parents were medical professionals, so medicine and patient care have always played a large role in our family.  From a personal perspective, a few years ago I was diagnosed with GERD and thanks to the advances in medical science, have been able to receive treatment which prevents my condition from altering my active lifestyle.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, tennis and roller blading.  I also enjoy travel and taking alternative exercise/fitness programs such as boxing bootcamps and Zumba dance classes.

    My favorite movie and book:

This is a difficult question to answer because there are so many movies and books that I could watch and read over and over again, but at the moment, I would say for movies it is a toss up between Legends of the Fall and The Color Purple.  As for my favorite book, I will say Tess of the d'Urbervilles, by Thomas Hardy.

  • Administrative Assistant
    Staten Island, NY

    What I do at Datatrial:

My title at Datatrial is Administrative Assistant which means I basically do a little bit of everything.   I try to keep everyone and everything organized while helping out where needed.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

Datatrial is a great place to work.   There is a lot of trainings and teamwork taking place so everyone can do a great job.  Clinical trials are such an important process and I like being a small part of it all.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

Suffering from infertility problems myself, it was via many medical treatments and drugs that I can say I am a mom to a beautiful daughter.  I have two close friends who just recently won their battles with cancer.   If it wasn’t for the treatments they received, they would not still be with us today to raise their families.

Some of the things I enjoy outside of work:

Outside of work, my family and I have recently taken up canoeing.   I’ve recently moved to North Carolina and am busy exploring all this state has to offer.

    My favorite movie and book:

I’ve just finished reading all the Nicholas Sparks books and have moved on to Richard Paul Evans.  I guess I just like a good love story.  My favorite movie is Son-In-Law with Paulie Shore, every time I see this movie it just makes me laugh.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

Watching people suffering from diseases that currently have no cure makes us realize the importance of the job we are doing. It’s just like being a random star in the sky, collectively working with other stars to make a meaningful & beautiful constellation. It’s not always your own stuff that inspires you to get up in the morning and make you do your bit – most of the time the inspiration lies around you.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

I love traveling to different places, love trekking, playing cricket, football and volleyball. During weekends, I go out with my friends to play pool and end up playing for hours before our tummies start grumbling for the taste of hot & spicy food. Never love watching games that I play & so I never miss the deadly action of Formula 1 (wish I could race that beast of a car!)

    My favourite movie and book:

Mythological war & Action movies top my list and that automatically puts The Lord of the Rings & Gladiator on no. # 1 spot.  The Fast & Furious series and my childhood hero - Batman series of movies are my favorites. I am not a big fan of books, but if I know that a certain book is really good, and the first few pages grab my interest - I don’t wait to gobble it up till its last word.

  • SAS Programmer
    Coimbatore (TN), India

What I do at Datatrial (in five words or less):

    Understand SAP. Program. QC. Deliver.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I like the fact that I am getting good connection with other colleagues. Direct feedback from my fellow colleagues is greatly helping me in improving myself.

    My personal hero:

In the run of 26 years in my life, the one and only personal hero is my dad. It’s not for just words, my dad really deserves it. He is a man of hard work, friendly, enjoyable, childish at times and tough, too. I would say he is a man of responsibility and sacrifice.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

Cook something spicy or play cricket.

    My favourite movie and book:

The Italian Job (2003). I am attracted by the piece of team work with collective unique individualities. Apart from academic books, I haven’t read any. But at some point, I will try to write a book.

  • Senior Statistician
    Newcastle, UK

    What I do at Datatrial:

I am involved in the day to day running of the Stats department at Datatrial working with both UK and US clients.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I enjoy the exploratory nature of our work. And being a Statistician, we are very often in the privileged position of knowing first whether a drug has worked.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

My Dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer a few years ago and had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy. He is in remission now, but it really does make you marvel at how medicine has evolved and can have such a great impact on your life.

Some things I enjoy outside of work:

I enjoy going out and spending time with my friends and very large extended family! I love music and enjoy going to concerts. I’m into baking and cake decorating in a big way. I’ve done a few birthday cakes and engagement cakes. I’d love to do a wedding cake if anyone would be brave enough to let me!

    My favourite movie and book:

My three favourite films are The Untouchables, Out of Sight and Roman Holiday. If I had to pick a book, it would have to be Pride and Prejudice.

  • Communications Manager
    Chicago, IL

What do I do at Datatrial:

Evolving from PR Specialist to Communications Manager, I've taken on larger responsibilities that involve any number of writing, editing, marketing, public relations, communications, interviewing, research, collateral creation and social media responsibilities. Most exciting new development? Managing and generating content for our DataBridge blog and our Twitter feed. I also write limericks in internal e-mails on occasion.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

Having worked at a number of companies of varying sizes, the sense that what you do makes a real difference—not only out in the world but in the direction of the company—is empowering. There are a lot of things to be done, so you don’t feel as if you’re doing the same thing every day, and it is inspiring to work somewhere where you have license to pursue your own projects.

How medicine positively impacted my family's life:

Having welcomed a beautiful baby daughter into the world recently certainly gave me a new perspective and broader appreciation of the gifted individuals we are lucky to have in the medical field. I have lost a few loved ones due to cancer as well, so I also know the other side of how far we have yet to go.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

I’m probably one of the few people you’ll meet who likes doing what they do at work even when I’m at home—I write constantly. I also enjoy traveling, following the NC State Wolfpack, playing golf on occasion with my brothers, working out and surfing.

    My favorite movie and book:

My two favorite books are “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding and “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac, and they’ve both informed my career quite a bit. There are a number of movies that I love, but my two favorites are probably “The Big Lebowksi” and “Office Space.”

  • Inside Sales Representative
    Brussels, Belgium

    What I do at Datatrial:

Responsible for researching, finding and qualifying new business opportunities for Datatrial.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I enjoy learning about new companies and technologies. Having a background in Chemistry, I’m fascinated by all of the research that’s being conducted. Also, I like my co-workers.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

I like sports, so any given weekend you can find me on: the golf course, football (American) field, basketball court, and/or baseball diamond.

    My favorite movie and book:

The best book I’ve read so far is Siddhartha, by Herman Hesse. Picking one favorite movie is a tough task, as I enjoy quite a few genres. But, if I had to pick one, I’d choose a comedy and “What about Bob?” is one of my favorites.

  • Quality Manager
    Dumfries, Scotland

    What I do at Datatrial:

As the Quality Manager at Datatrial I am involved in pretty much everything in the company at some level.  It makes for a varied and interesting working week.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

I enjoy working in a close-knit company and the opportunities that brings.  I also enjoy the direct interaction with customers.

How medicine has positively impacted my family’s life:

Both of my parents and my sister work(ed) in the NHS in the UK so I have always been aware of healthcare issues.  I am lucky in that my family has not had that much to do with acute and chronic illness and as a result have not had that much to do with being a patient.

Some of the things I enjoy doing outside of work:

Outside of work I mainly spend my time with my 2 children.  I also have 2 horses, and fit them in around everything else which often means I am riding at 6:30am or 9pm.  I compete at dressage on one of my horses and as the other is young I am busy breaking him in at the moment.  I swim regularly and ski on holiday once a year.  I’d like to do that much more often but it’s a bit hard to find snow in England!

    My favourite movie and book:

I used to be a regular cinema visitor before I had children, but rarely get the chance these days.  I love watching good TV series, and my all time favourite is The Wire.  I read a lot, and I hate not finishing a book even if its rubbish.  I don’t have a favourite book – there are so many good ones out there.   If I had more time I would go back around and re-read / re-watch and enjoy them for a second time!

  • Manager, US Study Delivery
    Scunthorpe, UK

What do I do at Datatrial:

As the Manager of US Study Delivery, I’m responsible for making sure that we provide the highest quality study work to our customers. This means that what I do from day-to-day varies but could include researching current standards and new initiatives in our industry, supporting and training members of the team, project managing studies, liaising with customers and supporting our business development team.

What I like about working at Datatrial:

Lots of things! In particular, I love being involved in helping to bring to market new drugs, device and therapies that will help give people a better quality of life and also in many cases help save people's lives.  I also love meeting all the different people that we work with and being part of such as great team here at Datatrial.

How medicine positively affected my family's life:

My family and I suffer with chronic migraines but one drug in particular has helped us to cope with these episodes. Coincidentally after joining Datatrial, I then found out that one of our team was involved in the early trials for this drug.

Also, a genetic disease runs in my family and whilst working with Datatrial, I have had the exciting privilege of working with a company who is looking for a cure for this disease. Although this hasn’t yet had a positive impact on mine or my family’s life, I am hopeful that in my lifetime, a cure will be found for this disease.

Some things I enjoy doing outside of work:

I love to try new things and will always try things at least once. This means that recently I have taken up rock climbing, water skiing and horse riding all of which I love. In my more sedate moments, I love to just relax with my family, my friends and with my cats.

    My favourite book and movie:

I have very wide tastes and it all depends on my mood which means that my list of favorite films varies from The Piano to Forrest Gump to Pretty Woman. Book-wise there’s really too many to mention but you can’t beat Harry Potter for a great adventure, Jodi Picoult always makes you question your own viewpoints and Paulo Coelho’s writing is beautiful and poetic.
